BIOGRAPHY

Consultant in Technology and Physical Infrastructure of Health Services; Founding member and part of the Board of Directors of GHIA (Global Health International Advisors) in Washington D.C .; He was Director of the International Committee of the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE); ACCE’s representative for the American Institute of Engineering in Medicine and Biology (AIMBE); WHO’s collaborator on field of "Medical Devices"; ACCE Alternative Representative to the International Federation of Engineering in Medicine and Biology (IFMBE) and Collaborator of the Division of Clinical Engineering (CED) of the IFMBE. Collaborator of the Technical Committee of the "Patient Care Domain (PCD), one of the 14 domains of the standardization organization" Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise "(IHE). He has more than 40 years of experience in the field of health technology, 29 of them as Senior Advisor in Physical Infrastructure and Health Services Technology of the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) where he retired in 2010. He has served in several "Editorial Boards" of scientific publications of health technology and constantly he writes articles for health journals. In 2011, ACCE renamed one of its annual awards as the “Antonio Hernández International Clinical Engineering Award.
